Meet Pauline, Nature Now Leader & Guardian of Nature Monthly Donor

“ A Push in the Right Direction…”

Pauline - Nature Now Blog

I spent all my summers near Kirkland Lake, swimming, rowing, canoeing, and just hanging around the shore, looking at the fish, bugs, frogs, hair snakes, dock spiders. We used to have barn swallows nest in the boathouse, so we would get to see them up close as the babies hatched and grew. My favourite activity as a little kid was picking up toads and bringing them into the cottage for a visit. They always ended up back where they belonged. Even now, I always look carefully where I walk, to avoid stepping on toads.

I am very disturbed by the deregulation of established laws and practices by our governments at all levels. Much of nature doesn’t have a voice, really. Nature needs to come first. It needs to be part of every government ministry, every department, every industry, and manufacturing company, every retail enterprise.

I feel strongly that we, regular members of the public, need to support those who speak in earnest for us. There is so much at stake, and we need a global awakening to the urgent situation. I feel that it is happening now, actually, and I want to get behind it and push.

Donating funds when and where I can, is one way for me to give a push in the right direction. Nature Canada is an excellent organization, in that it knows the issues, the players, and what needs to be done. It also has a policy of collaboration with other organizations, to multiply the effort and the results. I think that my choice of Nature Canada has been a solid one, and that it will help us all move forward in protecting our precious nature.

Giving is a feel-good activity. If you want to feel good about yourself, make a donation big enough within your own situation to make you look in the mirror with satisfaction, and say “Well Done!” You can be confident that Nature Canada will use it constructively.

Thank you Pauline!  Pauline’s Nature Now gift, combined with the kindness and dedication of other leaders, funds urgent projects in your NatureHood and across Canada.  And as a Guardian of Nature monthly donor, Pauline’s generosity makes an impact every day, week and month of the year.  I love talking to members about your nature stories and memories and what matters to you.  You can contact me anytime for a confidential conversation about your gifts to nature in Canada.  I’m here to help!

I would love to talk to you!
