India becomes Philippines’ 5th largest source market with 7.93% growth in 2025 arrivals

Speaking at the Philippines Itinerary Training in New Delhi, Josel Francisco Ignacio, Ambassador of the Philippines to India, said that India is the 5th largest source market for visitors to the Philippines. He revealed that the country welcomed 82,925 Indian tourists between January and September, a 7.93% year-on-year growth. In 2024, the country recorded over 78,000 Indian arrivals, up 12.4% from 2023. Filipino visitors to India have also rebounded close to pre-pandemic levels, underscoring growing reciprocal tourism between the two nations.

With 3.89 crore Indians travelling abroad in 2024, the country aims to capture a greater share of this market. He said both nations’ rising incomes are driving outbound tourism. Outbound spending of the Philippine reached ₱345.6 billion in 2024, reflecting a 37.5% increase.
